5 LinkedIn prompts that get interviews
Published 26 days ago • 3 min read
Hey Reader!
I had a call this week with a creative director who’s been in the game for over 10 years. Super sharp. Insanely talented.
But when I told her the #1 thing missing was presence, she paused.
“That’s not me,” she said.
But here’s the thing, once you’ve got the experience, what moves your career forward isn’t just what you’ve done. It’s who knows about it.
Presence = perception. And perception shapes opportunity.
Especially if you’re job searching.
So this edition is for anyone staring at a blank LinkedIn box thinking “What do I even post?”
Let’s make your first week of content feel easy and not awkward.
Your Week 1 visibility game plan
You don’t need to be loud to be visible.
You just need a plan.
Here’s your Week 1 roadmap:
Day 1: Set the tone Announce that you're job searching, but skip the plain #OpenToWork post. - Tell a short story - List a few key achievements - Share what kind of role you’re looking for
➡ “After 3 years at The Remote Marketer, I’m excited to explore new opportunities in [target role]. Some highlights from my time there: [list]. If you know of a team hiring, I’d love to connect.”
Day 2: Share a lesson Pick a project or challenge and break down your thinking. - What did you do? - Why did you do it that way? - What did you learn? ➡ “Here’s how I approached the problem and what I’d do differently next time…”
Day 3: Show what you do Share a result and walk us through how you got there.
- Include a screenshot or short video - Explain your process - Bonus: share a contrarian take or something you’d do differently next time ➡ “Here’s how I helped increase [metric] by X%. My approach might surprise you…”
Day 4: Engage strategically This isn’t about posting your own thing, it’s about being visible with others.
- Comment on posts from people at companies you admire - Add insight, not fluff - Start meaningful conversations ➡ “I saw your post about [topic] and it really resonated. At [past company], we tackled something similar by…”
Day 5: Ask a key question (in DMs)
Start a few private conversations. Don’t pitch, connect.
- DM someone whose work you admire - Ask a thoughtful, specific question
➡ “Hey, I’ve been following your work at [Company]. I’m exploring roles in [X] and wondering, what helped you stand out when you made your last move?”
Visibility doesn’t mean oversharing. It means showing up with clarity and value.
And if you’ve been afraid to post? Start with this plan. Adjust as you go.
It gets easier, I promise.
📌 What to work on this week
- Write your “I’m searching” post and schedule it for Wednesday. - Draft one short story or lesson from your last job. - Pull one screenshot or example of your past work. - Leave 5 thoughtful comments on key posts. - Ask 1 question in a DM, invite conversation.
Who's hiring right now?

Hey Reader! Last week, I shared my experience hiring a Social Media Specialist at Arc. The part that got the most questions? The video. I mentioned that the top 12 applicants all sent short, customized Looms, and the responses were split. Some people loved it. Others thought it was “too much.” Hate to break it to you, but this market is rough. Recruiters aren’t scrolling leisurely through 100+ resumes. If you want to stand out, you have to go the extra mile. This week, I’m breaking down what...
Hey Reader! This week, The Remote Marketer turns 1. One year ago, I challenged myself to post daily on LinkedIn. No strategy. No brand. Just show up and see what happens. What happened? I learned how to write better.Built real connections.Started a business coaching job seekers. So when I got laid off, I didn’t spiral, I had momentum. Because I wasn’t just applying. I was visible. If you're job hunting right now, you need that too. Here’s how to start posting, even if you're not a “content...
Hey Reader! If you’ve been here a while, you know my home base is Taiwan. But right now? I'm writing to you from Mexico. This summer, I came to support family through a tough season. And I’ll be honest, moving back into your parents’ home after 10 years of living independently is NOT easy. It’s been a lesson in patience, presence, and relearning how to live with others. I’m cherishing it all, even the hard parts. The bright side? I finally built my remote work setup here in Mexico. And with...
